Instructions for Pleated-Front Suspender Purse

1 Cut slightly wider than the side seams through the waistband and down 11". Cut across from side to side.

2 Use seam ripper to open each end of the waistband 2". Fold right sides together and trim crotch area so it can be stitched straight down from the zipper.

3 Match edges of the opened waistband and stitch down the side from top to bottom.

4 Trim the bottom edge of the purse straight across. Lay the purse flat, wrong side out, with the bottom edge up. Place a pin at each outside edge. Bring the pins in 1" toward the center to form pleats at the side of the purse. Stitch across this end to close the bottom of the purse. Turn right side out.

5 Put the hook and loop together. Pull off the backing and stick to the backside of the purse opening. Flatten the waistband onto the other side of the hook and loop. Carefully open button and zipper, and cut the hook and loop so the purse can come open. Stitch along the edges of the hook and loop so it will not come loose when the purse is opened. Stitch on the outside, avoiding belt loops and buttons. Close purse.

6 Prepare and attach the handles as described on Step 6 Quick Sew Option:.
